PIRIE

The clients at Pirie Street had been operating their family run coffee business from a mobile truck, and decided it was time to commit and open their cafe in the city. Umoki assisted the client during inception, planning the concept, design and branding for the space. We moved through detail drawings for approvals, material selection and scheduling for construction.

The space was an old office, we began planning the requirements for the space primarily function of the bar, and a small number of seats to accommodate coffee and sandwiches. Entrance to the back of the space was already built-in, however we designed a storage area and a window was integrated to allow for service from the laneway. Outdoor details were incorporated in the form of umbrellas, these were selected to pair with the branding and palette.

The plan for the design was functional and aesthetically fits the brief, we selected finishes driven by client branding and the requirements for the project and the space.
