PIRIE
The clients at Pirie Street had been operating their family run coffee business from a mobile truck and decided it was time to commit and open their cafe in the city. Umoki assisted the client during inception, planning the concept, design and branding for the space. We moved through detail drawings for approvals, material selection and scheduling for construction.
The space was an old office, we began building the requirements for the space primarily function of the bar, and a small number of seats to accommodate coffee and sandwiches. Entrance to the back of the space was already in-built, however we designed a storage area, and a window was integrated to allow for service from the laneway. Outdoor detail was incorporated in the form of umbrellas, material was selected to tie in with the brand.
The plan for the design was functional and aesthetically fit the brief, we selected finishes driven by client branding and the requirements for the project and the space.
